Battery Life 899 Panigale

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by mapper899, Feb 14, 2019.

  1. I have an 899 Panigale on 14 plate, never had any issues regarding starting when left for a period of time but this morning it’s not starting.
Once key is turned in runs through the cycle & I hear the exhaust valve ect then I press button to start & I just hear clicking. Is this just down to the battery not having enough juice to turn the starting motor over ?
The last time I rode it was about 1.5 months ago but as I’ve said I’ve left it longer before & it’s always been sweet. Time for a new battery or just a charge ?

  2. To state the bleeding obvious, try charging it first and if that doesn't work sell it and buy a Honda :)

  4. after market kick starter?

    charge it

  5. I had the same problem with the battery on my 899 when I first bought it. It's got a datatool alarm and biketrac which drains the battery within 2/3 weeks if not used. I now trickle charge it over winter and haven't had any problems since.
