I keep the battery on my 848 plugged to an Optimate 3 when it's in the garage. I've noticed that, when I start the bike after disconnecting the Optimate, it seems to turn over more slowly than normal and takes a while to catch. If I've been out for a run the bike cranks much more quickly and catches almost immediately even if it has been parked for several hours. When I replug the battery to the Optimate, the red "de-sulphate" light comes on although the two green OK lights come on after a few hours. Is my battery on the way out or is it the Optimate playing up?
Initial start always a bit sluggish on my bikes. Suggest leave it off the optimate for a week to see if its holding its charge ok.
Mine does the same and I have had a new battery and a new optimate. Still does the same so I live with it.
Mines the same too if its been standing for a while. Battery is fine, just don't think they like sitting around!
I do exactly as you do, and its exactly the same. Wouldn't worry about it till it stops starting
