So in conversation, I was told that a Power Commander V can be used on a 748 if you make up a bespoke cable which would then allow you to tune both cylinders which you cannot do with a PCIII. I guess this means scarfing in a Cannon style injection loom connector instead of the CanBus connector ? Anyone on here have experience of this idea ? Thanks, Andy
PCIII will map both cylinders. Needs switching over to advanced mode in the software. Most are ready but some did need a firmware update.
Looks pretty simple job. Here are the installation instructions for the 1198. Just need to identify the TPS outputs. http://www.powercommander.com/downloads/14-019/install/pcv/engI14-019.02.pdf
Should be easy enough to test directly. Plug the PC in to the laptop, load up the map software. In the pull downs, there's a advanced option. That should bring two mapping tabs up. You can view the manual on dynojet.com. The firmware and update software is on there as well.
That would have been favourite however I received no reply to my e-mails nor could I get anyone to answer the phone at CJS. I will only pursue a course of action for so long before I give up and try something else which was a PC III. I have a run out with the current set up next week so I was scoping alternative routes in that relentless pursuit of 1/2 HP OR 1lbf torque if it didn't work. Andy
