  1. I'm going to advertise my Aprilia Pegaso, I was thinking eBay first.

Just wondering where most people have had best luck selling bikes?

  2. Chuck it on the 'Bay, you get some nobbers on there but chances are it'll sell. The fees are a pain but I prefer it to a normal advert type thing.

  3. Hi Ministry, I think you know the result already though? - it comes down to what you mean by 'best' for me. Certainly Ebay represents the biggest chance of selling a popular item and possibly at the highest price but if you'd said 'least stressful/free' I would have said Pistonheads or Gumtree.

  4. Pistonheads is free for bikes, sold cars on there before OK

  5. When I sold my Van Van I advertised it on the Van Van forum, sold it for a very mutually agreeable price.

  6. For £15 you get 6 weeks on-line and 1 week in the comic with MCN. If the price is right the phone won't stop ringing wherever you advertise it. In reality the bay, mcn and piston heads are the first places I look for bikes/prices etc, really good coverage and exposure. I just can't bring myself to buy a bike off the bay tho, as nick says, there arn't half some nobbers on there ...

  7. Pistonheads. Free (as said above), plenty of scope for pics and text, and puts it in front of a constituency of petrolheads who are less likely to be timewasters. Bought my 998 from a smashing bloke on P/heads with whom I've stayed in touch.

  8. Either Ebay or pistonheads? Fee's on ebay but you will get the sale...

  9. I have always sold cars and bikes on ebay. List as a 'classified' for £15 and you can add 12 images, loads of detail and its for 30 days, plus no selling fees! :upyeah:
Good seller feedback is key here for buyer confidence, but only negative is that you can't give or receive feedback on classifieds...

I avoid MCN as you get calls from agencies....

  10. I have sold around 8 bikes, have always found a friendly dealer (used 3 so far) and put the bikes in their show room. You have to pay an agreed comission to the dealer, but, the bike will sell for a higher price via a dealer. I always seem to walk out with more cash than I think I would get for a private sale. Never have worries of numpties coming round the house and asking for test rides etc

  11. eBay mate but don't forget to include the line 'will not accept offers wink wink'

Also, of you do sell it you can remove the ad without incurring the killer final value fees!

  12. + Pistonheads
