  4. Lovely ride this morning . A good 80% off road on the gravel bike .Tried my mates bike which has a suspension stem and seat, it was like floating on air!, I think I know what's going on my xmas list . 30 miles with a nice coffee stop at about 20 .

  5. Suspension stem you say, takes back to the early 90's and flex stem system, prone to snapping

I’ve mentioned the above quite a few times on the forum, I’ve had mine around two years and can thoroughly recommend it, particularly if you have back problems.

  7. So this happened:
    DC1A6A0B-C462-4EC8-ADF9-F3BAFBA4C981.jpeg

My current contract is coming to an end, and I’ve been offered a role which will require me to commute again (i can’t wait to get back into an office environment again). I cant abide the tube or the people on it at the best of times so i was looking at what my options were. They’re funny little things and i will look like donkey king on it. During the research process a few YouTube videos popped up on the history and i have to say I’ve become rather fascinated by the story and the company. It’s in a raw lacquer finish and the brazing looks stunning imho. Covid has caused a shortage, so unfortunately they’re a little hard to get hold of so I’ve been caught in a high demand low supply scenario, and it’s not exactly how I’d of spec’d it so i some bits winging there way to me to get it how i want it. I was under a strict “1 in, 1 out” policy but she seems to have conceeded that for Covid reasons this is a social distancing device and didn’t even bat an eyelid (she doesn’t know the real price obviously).

It’s long, he jumps about a bit, but he’s very authentic which is incredibly refreshing.

  12. First ride on the MTB in months, running tubeless and split a tyre on a rocky decent . Put a tube in and 5 miles later got a slow puncture ! . managed to pump it up and got home after about 15 goes at putting air in it! .

  14. it might be a good idea to compare notes here, i'm 65 and about a stone/stone and a half overweight. blood pressure readings can be deceptive as the figures obtained for a top-flight, healthy athelete can be similar to those of someone with a weak heart. I have been monitering my blood pressure more and more constantly over the past 3 years and despite being far less active on a bicycle and less miles this year and at least a stone heavier, my blood pressure has dropped to 116 Sys/58 Dias and monitered bpm of 46 at times. Two years ago was around 125 Sys/65 Dias and never lower then 50/55 bpm during waking hours. i.e. this is not as a result of being healthier.

  15. I have no notes to compare, I haven’t had my heart rates, pressures nor anything else taken nor memorised when they were since 2014.

I’m no Doctor so won’t venture as to what these numbers mean.

  16. Got out on Salisbury plain on Sunday.

  17. Careful now don’t become target practice.

    Is your frame Titanium?

  18. of course you are totally right, it takes a wise old Doctor to be able to comment fully because it's so complicated, with many factors that can alter the calculations. I have included two pages of a document that I trust, but this is only to be taken as a guideline, as said at least twice in the text.

  20. Yes it is, as strong as carbon is, The frame gets a hammering off-road so I decided on titanium, that said, the forks are carbon and I’m not as ballsy as I used to be.
