Bike mag blow their Panigale engine

  1. Reading the October Bike mag (yes its not even September yet!) I had a look at their test on the standard 1199. They were accelerating it hard through the gears when it let go; blue smoke, oil over the back wheel and a pound coin sized hole in the engine case. The test bike had 1637 miles on it.

The bike has been returned to Bologna for post-mortem.

  2. Ouch. Not a good look... rod went south? :frown:

  3. Did he?

  4. Fell off the roof from what I heard? :upyeah:

  6. LOL we've managed to go from a blown Panigale engine in a bike test to Rod Hull and Emu in five posts!

  7. What was Emu doing on a Panigale?

If you're going to entrust Bologna's finest to a bird brain, no wonder it went phut.

  8. Thank heavens Orville wasn't on the back ;)

  9. Was he sent to Bologna as well ?

  10. More than most will do in the next five years then
