Bikeshed show oct 5th 2nd show of the year,to close the biking season?if it's half as good as mays the nits well worth the trip to Batemans Row in Shoreditch,London.Loads of incredible bikes, many special dukes, and just a good all round feeling vibe about the place.Kicks the sh1t out of boring Bham etc.
I was there today to drop my Pantah off, it looks like a really well set up show. I'm going to be there tomorrow from about 1100, I'll take a few pics etc and maybe see a few of you there
I drove past today, saw the bikes being offloaded, lucky I asked a geezer when it was, have seen no publicity like in May this time?Hopefully see you guys tomorrow,do we need to wear a red rose or something?
We have met Michel, at SS gathering a few years back. will wear dandylion from my garden. If I forget, tall bald glasses.
Awesome show with some stunning bikes. Met up with a few peeps but missed fig and Keith. I saw Alan and Nora and had a quick natter before I left though. If anyone gets time tomorrow it's well worth a trip into town.
I was there, but it turns out I got there too early. Wandered in, it was very quiet, had a look round the bikes but couldn't find Nick's bike. So I went outside for a fag and a cuppa and saw a queue across the road - turns out it didn't open til 11am...oops! So I queued up and paid to get back in again, then found Nick's bike in another building being sketched by arty farty types... View attachment 20304 Sorry I missed you Nick. Star of the show for me was the ER6 racer, but this Goldwing made out of wire was pretty bloody amazing... View attachment 20305
None of the Yam, sorry, but there were some interesting bikes there: View attachment 20306 Really liked this beemer, nicely painted. View attachment 20307 Deus Ex Machina bike was perfectly proportioned. Definitely my favourite, an ER6 looking like something Kork Ballington raced in the 70's. Plenty of big singles there. No details with this but it looks like an XR400'650 base, and looked like it actually gets ridden... My local bike shop (Corsa Italiana) were in attendance with an MGS01 among others. If my back wasn't so bad I would have shagged this bike!
That ER6 was very nice! I had a great day, and was very chuffed to find the guy sketching my bike. He does automotive art for a living and sketched the alloy Sportster as well. I've asked to buy the picture to hang on my wall at home
Dk, Ken and I got there 12ish after riding the gauntlet of camera's on the A12 and central London. We wandered round a couple of times, met a few old friends who have moved to Harleyland, but missed you guys, it was quite busy. Great intimate, classy show with some real nice builds and vintage bikes. The presentation was really cool and the stalls were busy selling retro gear which is good to see. Well done to Dutch and the BSMC for putting this on. If anyone's thinking of going tomorrow, do it, it's well good for a fiver.
Lots of peeps there Nick, I was looking out for you. Your bike looked well, did you have to empty the tank is the clear strip not clear?
I've met you before, Nick, albeit briefly at the Ace, so I would have said hello had I seen you. Saw an awesome looking BMW thundering through Wandsworth on the way home, shame he didn't get to the show earlier, I would have liked to see that bike up close.
Yep it was really good,as good as May,but just more of it,I loved the ER6 and the red Guzzi too,so many fab bikes, really cool CB750'and a fab Steve McQueen looking bike just on the left as you went into the second chamber across the road,it had a leather rear wheel hugger! FFS just brill, and such a GOOD vibe, well done to Ian and Dutch and all the others for such hard work resulting in such a fest for us all.
