Recently fitted new hoses to my 1098R. All working well but noticed a very slight bit of fluid after my last ride. Might be coming from the bleed nipple - could be a bit of fluid left in the nipple after bleeding. Nipples were tightened by hand with 8mm short spanner ( normal process for me). I looked in the workshop manual to check the torque ( just to be sure) and couldn't find a value for the front brake nipples. Any idea what it should be? Ta.
I'm a stickler for using a torque wrench, but have to say, I've never used them on bleed nipples for some reason. I've always just "nipped" them up and never had an issue.
Strange as it may seem in this esteemed company but @Cream_Revenge gets the prize for most practical advice! Thanks to all!
Undo the clamps about 10Nm... Before Hell T goes all Nuclear on my arse....this is my nipple. ...and she lets me own the other one most days of the month.
I've asked a considerably more expert mechanic than me, and he says he would never use a torque wrench on bleed nipples. Just "nip up" using good judgement... and the kitchen towel trick is good!
