1200 Booster Plug

Any product that states plug and play oh and by the way our product makes your dash display the frost symbol but don't worry it's just the way it is, I'm likely to avoid like the plague. For not much more you can get an ecu over write. Andy

 

I fitted one to my last bike, a BMW F800ST, and it worked as stated. It fools the ecu into thinking the air temp is about 10 deg cooler than it is and adds fuel. It isn't quite as simple as that as the O2 exhaust sensor will lean the fuel back under certain circumstances but on balance it enabled the bike run more smoothly and in a higher gear than previously.

 

So would I be right in assuming it must worsen fuel consumption and exhaust emissions, at least slightly?

 

Fuel consumption, and presumably CO2 emissions, improved slightly due to better drivability, there was less surging from the lean burn engine and at urban speeds a gear one higher than previously could be used.
The feedback loop from the O2 sensor will lean the engine back on a steady throttle but allow the device to work effectively on a changing throttle: I think.
Biggest hassle was convincing my insurance company that it wasn't a performance enhancing device. I am too honest for my own good
