I'm in the middle of tidying up my 900SS carby and need to replace the brake line rubbers fittings. These are the small tube like sleeves which are pushed on to the lines and help clamp the lines in place on the bottom yoke with the metal plate that fixes there. Both of my rubbers were perished, and also the same thing on the rear line. Ducati dealer says not a Ducati part and cant find anything on HEL or Venhill's sites. The existing ones were just a rubber tube with a flange at each end, but just looking at my 2005 Monster it has a similar fitting but of a better design as it has a metal part which helps to direct the line as it exits the mounting. I'll take either style right now. Anyone think of a supplier?
Might be worth popping in to a general bike shop,or jap place,as Im sure most bikes have them fitted.[If its the bit I think youre on about]
I may have a few lying around Gilps. I can check on Tuesday. I cut them off when not needed. Might be worth calling HEL as they do fit them to their lines if you want uncut ones. They won't go over the banjo though hence my cutting them.
I used a couple of short lengths of fuel hose with a suitable ID on my Monster, slit lengthways to get the brake lines in...
Thanks Nelly. I was going to call HEL as I think they are HEL lines that I have got fitted, but I assumed that the rubbers would just push over the banjo. I've got a couple of half decent ones which have been cut off another bike so may well use them, but thanks for the offer.
The HEL ones will fit over the banjo (a bit of lube(spit) helps), give em a call they might send you a couple Paul. Cheers Stafford.
I've just come off the phone from HEL who are sending me 3 new ones FOC. Excellent service from them. Thanks everyone who posted.
