hi chaps, guys is it wise to replace braided lines after a certain time?? or will they be good forever only asking as my 1198 still has the originals fitted, i know rubber ones deteriorate over time but not sure anout the braided ones. cheers
I have braided lines which I made myself on a Kit Car that i built over 25 years ago, these were Goodrich lines and fittings I got from a respected dealer, still good and no problems and they have been disconnected and reconnected over the years I also have a braided front brake line on Yamaha RD250LC which was put there in the 1980's again no problem, and now passes the MOT with no signs of anything suspect. I do check my lines for wear and degradation but so far on both vehicles no problem. They are teflon lined and show no signs of wear or depriciation. If they are decent lines they should last a very long time. I would suggest a check and pressure test, if you can do it, to make you feel more comfortable.
