1200 Brake Pads

  1. The front brakes on the Multistrada lack bite. Is it worth replacing the OEM pads and if so what with ?

  2. EBC's HH pads. I'm very happy with them. Got rid of the terrible groaning sound too (without applying any grease whatsoever but I don't know if it's the pads or the pads/rotors combination. I swapped the OEM rotors with EBC's as well)!

  3. I swapped the OEM pads for SBS, 706HS front and 730LS at the rear. They are the best pads I've ever used in any bike and were a marvel when I spent 10 days in the Dolomites. They are are wonderfully progressive getting more powerful as they heat up.

  4. Front pads replaced with EBC HH which are a big improvement but despite putting about 1/2 litre of brake fluid through the system the front brake is still a bit soft.

Almost certainly air at the master cylinder end. I ended up putting a full litre through the Diavel's front brake lines before the lever firmed up. The guys at the workshop had always said if you put the end of the bleed pipe into brake fluid in a bottle and crack the bleed nipple, all you have to do is pump the lever until it runs bubble free. I thought "bollox", couldn't see how that would work but frustration with the Diavel prompted me to try it and blow me, it worked a treat. Andy

  7. bobbins??

  8. que ?

  9. I'm sure your bike is perfectly maintained but I found that sticky bobbins gave me a soft lever.
Unstuck them, so they were lovely and free and all was well.
