Brembo pads faulty

  1. Hi all

Just wondering if this is normal or happened to others. On checking my front brake pads today I've noticed that the left hand side calliper the material on the pads is actually coming away from the pads themselves. The pads are brembo pads so not cheap to buy. A bit miffed as there is still plenty of life in the pads, so today fitted new pads as not taking any risks.

  2. I'd be contacting Brembo......me thinks!

  3. Busa, send them to Brembo and tell them how long/how many miles/type of driving/condition of the discs and callipers, they will probably replace them FOC and may thank you for identifying a manufacturing defect/fake. It should be worth the postage (don't forget to include teh packaging if you still have it)

  4. +1 for Denzils comment. As they say nothing ventured nothing gained

  5. Blimey, post up some photos first, or at least take some photos and inform Brembo that you have, if it comes to that, if you get my meaning.

  6. I used to work at a mail order company some years ago that where Brembo dealers and this was quite a frequent thing. Brembo didn't seem that bothered to be honest!

  7. Then use SBS or Performance Friction. This is VERY common with EBC pads too......

  8. I can confirm that....I had a new front set of EBC that did the same, and although in fairness to EBC they responded with replacements immediately which have been OK, the rear ones started to do the same.

However, I have persevered with EBC having used them for several years (road and racing) albeit back in the 80s and 90s.

  9. +1 on returning them to Brembo... they will undoubtedly replace them? :upyeah:

  10. I wouldnt touch EBC with yours Al, I've seen too many separate from the backplate......
