Brighton Burn Up 14th September

Discussion in 'Rideouts & Events' started by Lucazade, Sep 5, 2014.

  1. So Harry suggested we meet at Chalet for breakfast before deciding which way to go to avoid the traffic.

Main thing departs Ace Café at 10:30 so I would say Chalet meet at 09:30-10:00? We could have some food, banter and either depart before they arrive there or wait for them to pass and go in from the chocolate hole (back side ;D ).

Is it good time or earlier/late?

    All assuming weather is ride-able.

  2. I will be there Lucas. I go by car as I hate walking around in bikeing gear. Do make sure you don't miss the stunt shows, there are normally 3 shows per day and they are held at the eastern end of the marina drive. Listen out for the announcements of the timings over the P.A, and make sure you have enough time to walk there.

btw The ride in from the Ace doesn't go past the Chalet. If you want to watch the bikes jsut plot up anywhere on the A23, there is a bikers cafe about 4 miles north of Brighton on the A23.

  3. Even better if they do not go past less traffic. Is 0900 good time? I will take shoes to change and jeans on me so will be good to walk :)

  4. Lucas there will be plenty of traffic! I would suggest that you avoid the A23 as it just gets log-jammed as people enter Brighton. 9:00am is far too early imo. 11ish is far better. I tend not to spend much time looking at the bikes as I have seen them all over the years. I like to spend a bit of time looking at the scooters all encumbered with mirrors and foxtails, the Totty and the stuntshows.

  5. I quite like this event so hopefully will go

  6. Ok but can we establish time for chalet meet? 0900, 1000?

  7. Early start good do you normally park up on Madeira drive?

  8. Last time I dumped the bike in first free spot...... As it happened it was middle of roundabout........

  9. Yep just stick Polski plates on and abandon it anywhere lol ;)

  10. No need it was on British plates and no one could care less hehe

  11. A few years back the local Gestapo ( traffic wardens) were even ticketing bikes

  12. My advice is to avoid Brighton town centre and the M23 at all costs.
Pass under or over the M23 and come in from the Marina end (from the east). When you get closer to brighton head east to the university then woodingdean and park up on the A259 road Marine Parade. Then walk down or just watch the stunts for free from up there.

  13. Every year I go, every year I hear horror stores, every year I park easy relatively close to centre.
It is a big gathering yes traffic will be heavy that is the hole point to get bikes in :)

  14. Same here Luca, right I've been up ace cafe today and can confirm that the Rideout leaves there @10:30 route as per the flyer, so they won't be there until 12:00 in past we've done out own thing and still parked on Madeiara drive

  15. Yeah. Don't forget your Brylcreem!

  16. What is Brylcreem?!

Anyhu so 09:30-10:00 seems good time as we could be there an hour before departing and still making it before the big Ace crud :)

  17. Then go via A281 all the way to A23 if empty quickly jump in that way or go across A23 to A273 to Ditchling and then Ditchling/Beacon Rd to Brighton

  19. That's OK if you come in early.
After 11 you are stuffed for the last mile or so.
Follow my route and you'll see no traffic.
    Tried n tested many times.

  20. Might make it over for this too, not been for a couple of years
