Bit sad I know but happy to have my lovely 749 running again, thanks to the chaps at MD Racing. She's got new shoes and just needs some new clothes and I just need some bloody insurance and then we will be set (when it stop raining of course).
Just been of the road due to trying to save money, but needed a full service inc belt change and new tyres, battery, clutch plates, and break pads, they fixed a couple of other things like seals too. I'm getting the fairings replaced as they were damaged from knocks and scrapes, and i've replace one of the mirrors that I broke being silly and standing it too close to a wall. Just good have it running again, I had forgot how good it sounds, its strange sitting on it again after riding a street triple for a while. Its a lot harder.
I know the feeling. Hoping to get mine out this weekend for its first ride since the end of September last year.
Just noticed I got an advisory item on my MOT 001 Rear Exhaust Noisy [7.1.2] apparantly 82dB is the legal noise limit, but I expect my 749 would exceed that even with standard exhausts :/ Well the app on my phone said it was an average motorcycle (88dB average, 93dB max).
^^^^^^^^ The only thing that matters for a road bike test wise is the MOT. At the moment there is NO noise test done during an MOT. A tester can put an advisory on the certificate about noise, but can't fail the bike because of it. It can be failed of course if any part of the exhaust is leaking.
When I took early retirement, I bought myself that once-in-a-lifetime present to myself of a Panigale S Tricolore. Then I added all the extras. Well, it seemed a bit pointless being given a new set to sporting silencers and not fitting them on, but then the nice man in the shop explained that I needed the tubes that join them to the engine to be sporting too. So I got some of those fitted too. Oooooh, it is veeeeery nice now ! I explain to the gentlemen of the Yard that I have a secondary audible warning device fitted instead of a silencer. Well, it seems a bit much to describe them as 'silencers' , after all !
