Hi , Considering these as next upgrade to my 2012 PP. Just wondering if there will be an actual noticeable difference in any area ? Like the looks of standard wheels so its not about that and have read the marketing stuff which obviously states a very positive picture. They dont come cheap but have done a lot to the bike and wont be chopping in as the bike does everything I need. All views welcomed. I know BST s have been discussed before but not having any luck with search funtcion ,Cheers everyone
How much extra does the Multi weigh? 40kg wet? There's that much difference in rider weights, I'm positive it won't make any difference at all. Not sure if they'd withstand too much 'off roading' but can't see many Multi owners being that hardcore!
I know one of the multi owners had a set on his, but that was on the "old" forum, so likely lost to the ether.
Difficult to describe the feeling accurately, but it felt like 50kg had been taken off the bike, it changed direction effortlessly at speed, everything felt lighter and sharper - turn in, braking, flip flops. The bike was well set up before, but the wheels just blew everything out of the water. I'm sure some other BST owners will chime in soon!
Saw a red Mutley at the Ace Cafe last year with a set on. Didn't spot the owner but they looked very bling. Spokes a lot thicker and had a square (ish) in profile.
Tahnks, really like the looks but wanted to make sure I was getting more than that for the money if you know what I mean
Thers a guy on here, and for the life of me I cant remember his handle! But he had a set on a early 1200, rides a zx1000 thing now, and swore they were worth every penny
Remember you have lightweight rims on the pp,so maybe not as much difference as with the standard multi, one of the 1199 owners who have swapped the marchesini to carbon would give a you better idea of the difference.
I've put BST carbon wheels on my 1098 and can honestly say the difference is amazing. Of every bolt on extra/bling/improvement I've ever fitted to any bike these are the most noticeable in every way.
Absolutely no idea, sounds like they are of a slightly different design but I'm sure the BST web sight will have weights on it.
Lighter wheels make a big difference no matter what the weight of the bike. At speed it's the wheels gyroscopic effect that you're fighting to overcome when turning more than the weight of the bike. Lighter wheels therefore make the whole effort of flicking a bike around easier so the whole bike feels lighter than just the few KG of actual weight loss. It's the best place to lose weight from if you get the opportunity.
