  2. My advice is have a look around. Find a bike you like. Buy it.

  3. The two bikes you mention are a few years apart,i have a 998s Final Edition, a 999s and a 1098s and while each bike is different each one of them have
something special about. As El Toro said have a good look around but maybe decide which one you want the most before you look as it makes it much
easier to find the best one in that chosen model. Good Luck

  4. Morning I can only speak for the 1098s but have had mine for the last couple of years and done the Pyrenees and several long trips in the UK and reliability is fantastic. Never had a problem with the bike. The belt change after 7000 miles is around the £700 mark unless you feel confident enough to do it yourself. I don't. 7000 miles to me is about two years so if you look at it like that its not that bad. Try all the bikes one will stand out to you. I knew as soon as I went up the road on mine it was right for me.

  5. If you're not in love with an older shape, 996 etc, and can stretch to the newer bikes imho I'd do that. Try an 848 and 1098 and see which you prefer.

  6. Agree with others. Do keep in mind tha spare parts for older models are becoming more scarce now so I would opt for later models. Yes buy what you like but maintenance issues you can not ignore.
