Hi! I am searching for used original OEM fairings for my Duc 1098s tricolore. I have found few things here and there but all have different part numbers than those in the catalog ie. headlight fairing has 481.3.040.3A instead of 481.2.040.4AG. Someone once told me that it is common with ducati that there are differences in fairing part numbers. Is it true? How to find original, not being repainted by someone? Cheers! Adam
Good luck with your search. I managed to buy a L/H green and white panel for mine many years ago but I suspect it was one replaced under warranty as it has a paint defect in the vent opening identical to the one I saw on another tricolore when they first came out but it was cheap so I bought to keep as a spare.
Hi, I have a new OEM set of 1098S fairings for sale in virtually perfect condition. They are advertised on here somewhere, I will see if I can find the ad.
Adam, the tricolore panels all tend to have AG at the end of the part number, the one you list above ending in just A is the unpainted nose cone, red ones tend to end in AA, the Bayliss scheme AT. To make matters worse as the bikes develop over the various model years, components are either updated to fix issues, supplied by different component manufacturers or a later one from a different bike with a different part number is substituted. In some instances there have been 5 or more generations on components used during a production period as short as 4 model years (749/999 coils for example) with each one having a different part number but all of them fitting all the bikes. Best thing is to call a decent part supplier such as Moto Rapido and ask them. According to the stuff I can access MY08 1098S Tricolore LH Upper 48012373AG RH Upper 48012393AG LH Lower 48012281AG RH Lower 48012302AG V piece 48410601AG Tail unit 48321551AG Nose cowl 48120404AG But I cannot see if there are later updates on the part numbers
