Cagiva Elefant 900ie

Discussion in 'Builds & Projects' started by Pjgoose69, May 1, 2018.

  1. as well as recently buying myself an 1100 Hypermotard, I also own a basket case Elefant 900ie and was wondering if anyone else on here has one or experience of them? It’s 100% complete, or it was until I stripped it apart! Will be sending frame away for powder coating soon, plus all the other ancillaries that need blasting and paint.
The bodywork has already gone for repairs and paint.
Need the forks rechroming, the engine and injection system overhauling and will refurb the wheels too.
Hoping to find a bit of help and recommendations, as I’m not confident on tackling the engine!
I’m based near Derby, so please hit me up with local recommendations and businesses please!
If anyone has spares as well, please let me know?
Once I figure out how to play st pictures, I will start adding them to this thread if anyone might be interested?

  3. Good to hear that you are restoring the bike. I don't know much about the Elefant 900ie but the engine is the same as the Ducati 907ie and I would imagine the fuel injection is the same too. You can download a workshop manual for the 907ie from ducatipaso.org. Hopefully it will be useful.

  5. Good Luck with the rebuild, we did start to build a small community on here for a while (link below) but it's pretty much fizzled out now and mine are off the road. There are still several owners on here, and you probably know there are several Elefant dedicated sites but only one (well supported) site with English as it's first language afaik - access used to be a little antiquated but it may have been modernised by now.

  7. Under the faded panels were a few years worth of cobwebs, earwig nests and leaves! 390F3B9E-6A8A-4ADC-AB7A-F41473C9F518.jpeg EFAA1751-9032-46F0-88CE-7EACB0E34EF6.jpeg 469A6739-CD72-4661-9A07-17A59DF16FB8.jpeg B95B6463-48B1-4980-AE08-99ADE3F1A951.jpeg 2B3D5376-0CF1-4CDC-AB80-9376DA95B1EE.jpeg B75AD129-B2BB-4127-977E-3A6DA6890E8B.jpeg
