Caliper Bolt Suggestions

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by tricolore, Oct 13, 2025 at 4:49 PM.

  1. I’m looking for the original or new caliper bolts for my 1993 Monster. They were changed some years ago to new stainless ones but they are not correct, the head is far too deep compared to the ones in the picture.

If I am to buy new and have plated any suggestions on which quality to buy, worried I’ll buy the wrong type from eBay..

picture below for reference not from my bike.

  2. I would give Pro Bolt a call
    https://www.pro-bolt.com/
Previously I have found them very knowledgeable
If something isn’t immediately in their catalogue then they can usually fabricate it in your choice of material

  3. Thanks

Trying to find the low profile head type is a challenge tbh. And not sure what stainless would be suitable..

  4. Are they a ducati part or do originals come with the caliper??

  5. This is what mine look like below, clearly the wrong head size. I’m looking for original bolts or new aftermarket but have to be the correct low profile head. I can always have them plated yellow if needs be…

The mounting bolts are the wrong had size too…

  6. Have a look on the Accu fasteners site. Top quality, certification on some fasteners etc. A proper engineering supplies business.
They’re one of the best suppliers I’ve used in years.

  7. Standard bolt surface treatment specification is an 8.8 socket cap zinc plate with gold passivate.

  8. Does anyone know the correct, original head height ?

  9. Not off hand, but most fasteners tend to follow DIN or BS standards. A low profile cap head, will be the same. I don’t think the ones Brembo used were anything special or bespoke.

  10. I refurbished my 916 calipers in the summer, here’s a few photos which may help identify the bolts - I had mine zinc & gold passivate coated by JW Rudge in Birmingham.

As mentioned above by Sev, they are marked with 8.8 and also an R.
