For not being a medical examiner you were pretty much bang on because the medical term for that is “absolutely f#%ked”......
And just to show the extent of it, here’s an ankle mock up that’s not been thoroughly re-engineered via high-speed impact
The Talus bone that was shoved up and smashed to pieces is what your foot/ankle move around, so the lad is doing well to be on his feet so quickly. I bruised my talus snowboarding in Canada and it still makes me limp for my first few steps 2 years later (oh, and I click when I walk). Mine is nothing by comparison, but took 9 months to be anywhere near normal.
He is back on the bike today, Sepang testing , well down on the timing sheets as to be expected, hope he works it out and gets back to being in the top 6 by the end of the season.
Wonder what Honda have to say about the extra 1-2KG (they quote in the tweet) of metal in the leg. I remember Scott being told to loose 2 more KG or they would take the bike off him! Either way... fair play Cal, I just hope he can get up to speed quickly and take it to Marq and Lorenzo in some form, would love to see him with 5-6 podiums this year, which he could do if the bike has improved further and he rides the way he was last year
Did Scott really get told that tho? 2kgs in weight will not take you from 19th to 2nd....nor IMHO will having 2 kilos extra take Cal from top 5 to 10th
I’ve seen more fat on a stick insect than on Scott. Where’s he going to lose it from (apart from his new dreadlocks)?
The system they use to repair this sort of injury was developed in the U.S.S.R. The ilizarov apparatus or in the west they coin it a external fixation device because they don't want to be seen stealing good ideas from the commies! This fact is for anyone fomenting the ideals that the tories are actually going to instigate a war with the Russian Federation.
