Do I need the icv that is on the t/b's, or can I leave it off? Will be looking at removing the exup valve, lambda's, fans, sidestand, lights etc, so will be having the bike set up with the ecu being fiddled with. If it can go, I guess it just needs blanking off?
The ICV can be disabled in the ECU. Issues reported after doing it are poor cold starting. Rather than blanking off I would suggest linking the two throttle bodies with a tube so that they balance. The ICV is just a needle valve controlled by a stepper motor. It would be possible to replace it with a manual 3 way needle valve and set the idle with this. This would allow a higher permanent idle to be set, particularly useful if a race bike.
I have blanked off. Linked with a tube. Left on. Best results I have found are leaving it on. Although I moved it to the left and used just one fixing screw. This left more room to get the fuel pipe in.
