Humour me. But is there any reason why a spare Engine Control Unit might be needed? Do they ever pack up? Would it be handy to have a spare for any reason? A friend has offered me a spanky new one for silly money and I'm wondering if I'm being a mug to even consider buying it despite the great price! Cheers.
Absolutely, yep they can go pop from time to time. If it's cheap enough buy it, don't even think about it. If you plan on keeping the bike that is. Even if you decide to sell the bike at a later date, someone will always be grateful for an ecu at a reasonable price.
Ive a spare one for my 916 because no-one bid on it on fleabay bout 10yrs ago and I got it for practically fek all. It works too.
It's a done deal, I know the guy who lists this stuff on eBay. Twice a year they get a huge container from Italy packed with random Duc parts, he sifts through and lists them on fleabay but lets mates know what he has beforehand: 2000 Ducati 900SS / Monster 28640221B injection control computer brain unit | eBay
