Hi, I recently bought a Nocco G3500UK to maintain the batteries in the bike and van. I also bought a CANBUS adapter which if I understand correctly plugs into the 12v socket on the bike. Only thing is when I do the dash lights up with pulses of the rpm counter and all the dash screen light up. I unplugged straight away. Bike is a 2013 Multistrada 1200s GT. Thanks in advance!
The 12v socket on the MTS is just that and is only active when the ignition is energised, it has no connection with the Canbus. By plugging the charger into it you are providing power to the ignition switched side of the bike, ie. powering the bike from the charger. Either use a connector direct to the battery or Ducati adapter that connects to the diagnostic socket.
Only one socket is powered by the ignition and the other is a direct feed via a fuse to the battery. Have you tried plugging it into the other socket?
