anybody done/bought recently a track day (incl car) lately? lots of these "experience day" providers out there, but I guess they are just middle-men, so therefore a markup is getting bunged on the cost. Any to avoid, or recommendations? It is a present for my 18 year old (who has a 1.2 54bhp skoda fabia as his daily runner ) to have a blast in one or more supercars at acceleration/speed he can only dream of. I have had a bit of a trawl and found things like most will allow 17-75 year olds so long as they have a full licence, except Silverstone who have 21 as their minimum age. Cheers, Pete
Avoid Prestwold Hall near Loughborough in Leicestershire. I did an Arial Atom experience there. Short and very boring track, expensive.
Driving Experiences - Silverstone This is just one of a number of offerings. I also think MSV do something similar. Porche UK also do something at Silverstone as well. Andy
I've heard good things about Merc world @ Brooklands: Driving Experiences Overview - Mercedes-Benz World
Do it at a proper track and pay for extra time if possible. I did one on a coned airfield and would have prefered a proper track. What cars are you choosing?. I would recommend the Nissan GTR-35 it's one hell of a car, gearbox is excellent and the way it puts power down through the corners is a thing to behold.
It's rather expensive but I did the palmersport day and it was epic!! It's a full day with plenty of drive time... even had fillet steak included for lunch
