guys my 748 is running a carbon Air box. Problem is that the midrange sucks. Bike feels like it's hit a wall in the midrange and takes a damn age to rev through it. My question is, what chip should my bike be running with a termi 50mm full system and a carbon Airbox with the performance filter?
You will need a custom remap to get the best performance, 50mm full system is to big for a 748 and could be part of your problem. Steve
Need a bit more info. 748 what ? A carbon air box should make little difference but the chip will. I'm not at home at the moment so cannot look at part numbers. The only 748 that ran a 50mm half system was the 748R so that's your start point. Eproms are not programmable so you might need a power commander. I'll be in touch. Andy
Try JHP and tell them what you have, they may have one to suit. They were very good with my 853. Steve
It's going in to my local specialist on Tuesday. He'll check the chip that's fitted. He also has a range of eeprom chips in stock. Is it just a case of fitting it and setting the CO using the analyser? Having Belts and shims done too, with all filters etc. trying to get it running right and happy to remove anything that may be hindering it's performance.
my 748 never had a issue with the 50mm exhaust, as said above JHP will make it right either way, they sorted my hyper for me and its never run as good as it does now.
Haha. One step at a time hey. Selling the rearsets as they're a pain in the ass to ride with. Fitting standard footrest hangers.
I have some standards from my 996S first thing I saw when I looked closely at your first pic was "I need to get new rearsets"
Already got standards mate but thanks. These are gilles rearsets. I'm 6ft4 so can't get comfortable with them even in lowest position. If you're interested is buying PM me and we can discuss.
thanks for the offer but im powdercoating over all the gold and red on my 996 and making it blue just to be different and because its in need of LOTS of attention, unlike yours, which looks like its been well looked after and has all the right mods done to it (im 6'2)
Cheers mate. Yeah it's in pretty good shape, although needs a full service and proper going over, hopefully it runs right. Had a 749 that ran like shit and after drowning £400 with specialists trying to fix it I had to rip it apart myself to find the fault. Don't really want that to happen again. Would rather pay for it to be fixed so I can just ride the thing.
speak to John in servicing at JHP, tell him Gary Jones said he will sort it for you, they will collect it too for free
yes, just have to fit in with their collections (they will have others to collect near you on the same day)
Go to moto rapido Moto Rapido Ducati Dealer in Hampshire Nowt is free by the way.......................
Airbox won't have made any difference, the exhaust as stated is probably too big. Bigger is not always better. Give it whole heap of other parts and then it all might work harmoniously but I'd say you won't be getting the best out the motor with it right now. A proper re-map either with programmable chip or power commander will let you make the most of what you have though.
