Centre stand

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Desmo Pete, Apr 3, 2012.

  1. Is it worth getting a centre stand for my multi 1100s?

What are the pros and cons?

    Is it worth the money?

  2. I put a SW Motech stand on my 1200, it makes cleaning the chain much easier and takes up less room in the garage when upright on the entre stand. Its also easier to clean both wheels when on the stand as you can spin the front wheel with a little effort.

  3. good luck with finding one...but if you're going to be touring at all, sure beats chain slack and the ability to deal with a load on even ground.

  4. It is a worthwhile addition to your Multi. My 1000 S DS came with one fitted and it certainly makes cleaning/adjusting the chain a dawdle. I'm about to get some new tyres and it'll also make this easier too I imagine when I come to take the wheels off as I don't have a singel sided paddock stand currently.

Problem you will find is that they are no longer stocked by the main stealers so it'll have to be a second hand one; good luck!

  5. Decided against it.

I have got a pair of paddock stands so cleaning and chain oiling is not a problem anyway.

Just wondered if it was going to be a worthy addition to the bike, I doubt it.

There are far more multis without one than with one!
