Suprisingly (at least to me), 0-mile (and 0-km) clocks for the 748/916/996/998 range are still available for sale by the factory direct to this very date, albeit for the usual premium (an official online part code search suggests £380 for the speedo alone). Whilst the original production company of the clocks in Italy has long closed (being CEV), the new speedos’ produced to date by Zadi SpA (also in Italy) indistinguishably bear the same CEV hallmarks as the old ones. Quoting their website, Zadi SpA is the “industrial crossover of the CEV lab”. The date ink stamp, as well as the paper tag, that accommodated part data on the old ones has now been replaced by a silver sticker. For those willing to pay attention to detail, fine differences may also exist in other parts of the speedo produced then and now (primarily in the way in which plastic and metal were/are industrially treated as materials and their impact on the overall finish). Came across pictures of both online and thought it might be useful for some to share them here.
