Can someone in the know give me a quick simple idiots guide run down on the steps to change 1098 spark plugs?
If the recesses are anything like the 999 then you will need a modified Sparkplug socket. This requires the outer diameter at the bottom 1/2", or so, of the socket to be reduced by grinding or turning on a laithe.
I managed to do it relatively easy on my 848 using the spark plug tool in the standard tool kit supplied with the bike. the front plug was bit of a pain to get the coil to come past the radiator but other than that it's relatively simple once you've got the tank raised a bit.
Do yourself a favour and whack a pair of these bad boys in there... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemVersion&item=221060825821&view=all&tid=1163275399012
