so im thinking of putting one of these plug n play chips in my car (Mercedes C250 CDI 2009) a mate has the race chip, says it’s good and another mate has the TFI tune. Anyone use such a thing? there isn’t a huge difference in price but both offer slight differences in HP and Torque. One offers up to 20% mpg increase the other only up to 10%. Was just hoping for some reviews?
I'd say take it to a dyno get it mapped and reflashed. Our smax went from 180 to 210 uses less fuel too...goes through the mot with no issues...
I wouldn’t bother, pre Euro 6 diesels cars are already being heavily penalised with higher vehicle exise duty, higher pollution charges not just limited to London, higher parking charges (in 1 London borough) and fuel levies. Germany are planning a total ban on the sale of diesel cars by 2022 and I think I read somewhere pre 2012 diesels will be banned from all UK major cities operating pollution reduction measures from 2019/2020 similar to some French cities. That might have been fake news but given the mentality of people like Sadiq Khan, it is entirely possible. Andy
