Just to say, i have found two possible replacements for the short owned 748 i had stolen. What would you go for? 7,000 miles 748s 14,000 miles 748 SPS At the same money & year?
I'm sure someone will be along with all the technical gubbins soon but after having owned a 748 sps (sports production sport) I dont think it was that special other than the speedo was in KMH. If the 'S' is on par with the newer bikes i.e. Better wheels, suspension etc I'd go for the lower milage 'S' myself. Have a good look at the service history and how fussy the owners have been, higher milage shouldn't put you off as long as its been looked after and besides 7 and 14,000 miles on a bike thats no spring chicken is peanuts.
Careful with the sps, there's a thread on here somewhere about them but I can't find it. The gist being they were very limited in numbers and a lot of other stuff has been dressed up to look like an sps. I think red998 knows his onions with sps's. Worth doing some research on, a sticker is still just a sticker!! A real one is a real one! If it is, get it. Best advice tho, don't be in too much of a hurry. Find a nice cared for bike.
Yep, This SPS was a fake, even said sps in the log book, but was an import.. been on the phone with Ducati Anyone got something nice up to 4K Max
