I have known for a long time that the paint on my clutch cover had suffered a stone chip but just couldn't be bothered to do anything about it. Well 5 years on and this is final stage of not being arsed. Only way forward was to fit a new one. Andy
To be fair to myself, the Multistrada is my “go to” bike, 12 months of the year. Tyre pressures are checked prior to a journey, the chain gets a spray of lube after every run whilst it’s warm, the chain is cleaned and tension is checked every 500 miles and adjusted as required and it does get a wash when its minging and of course it is serviced on mileage or time religiously. The 853 and 1098R get attended to for every track day and get an oil and filter change evey 600 miles in addition to the annual service. I put my hands up to the clutch cover, it was just lazy. I promise to do better Andy
It's possible to get it powdercoated, just find a good shop who will mask it up properly. The sightglass just pops out. Then you can dremel the coating back off the writing and probably better than new. You might as well now it's off, that way you have a spare.
Corrosion is too bad. Surface is very powdery and pitted. I will try to clean it up but the condition is pretty shot. Andy
