I am thinking of changing the clutch and brake levers on the 600ss to something more modern but cannot find out what fits , i can find 750ss and 900ss levers does anyone know if the levers are the same for all the SS versions ie are they interchangeable ?
I believe they are the same, and I think the monster ones are the same. I've got a monster master on my 750 as it was the same.
Carbed SS ones are all the same....... Make sure you check the adjustment screw when you fit them though...............the levers are set to match the MC / Reservoir free play............
I think the Monster and SS 900 from about 95 on used a remote reservoir as opposed to the coffin type which was standard fit on the 600. I think they use a different lever on the two types.
I just fitted the remote reservoir type, the levers are interchangeable? (I opted to go for that with a supermono type reservoir mounted to the yoke)
Ordered these from fleabay 16.99 delivered free at that price it was worth a try they are for a 750ss but look like they will fit yes they are from Hu Flung Dung in China, A friend had some and they worked really well so here's hoping they arrive.
I have so called SPazzos on mine and they are fantastic. The fit was better than the ones I took off. Not sure I would go for shorties with a Ducati clutch though......
yes my hand will be twice the size after a ride !! Although with a big V twin the engine is a good brake.
Don't get caught out by engine braking on the smaller engines.........even though my compressions are fine, sometimes I find that the engine braking seems non-existent...........
I currently own 6 bikes. A 1966 Aermacchi 250. .. A 1947 Velocette 350 KSS... My Ducatis.. 600ss.. St2.. M750 and a 748. The engine braking on the 600ss is far lower than the others including the 250 and 350.
I agree...........I had 350 and 500 Enfield Bullets (the real ones); a Continental GT; a big Matchless single and a Thruxton lookalike Velo Viper; plus an 850 Guzzi.........they all had much harder engine braking than the 750SS
Thats because you are not expecting it... When a Volvo pulls out in front of you the experience will be somewhat less impressive.
Well they have arrived and been fitted and fit with no issues except the clutch and brake mtg bosses we're on the wrong side so entailed dismantle and swap over went for a short ride and all worked well they look good and cannot fault the quality very happy with em and even as shorties do not affect clutch pull etc. pics below
