  1. My new bike (to me) has a DP slipper clutch
Has race setup on plates etc and want to put it back to road version if poss
    Have all the plates etc
    Dont have a clutch tool
Will this do the job ?
Laser 5340 - Ducati Clutch Hub & Drum Tool - Machine Mart
Seems much cheaper than the others about
    Thanks

  2. So you want to change the plates? This won't affect the road/race setup plus you don't need a clutch holding tool either, just remove the pressure plate.

For road/race setups it's all determined, well most of it is determined by the angle of the ramps on the drum which you would need to replace and you would need a holding tool then.

  3. As Freak says.

The laser tool is cheap and works for getting the basket off.

Bbut I think you maybe confusing yourself over what a race set up is. A slipper is a slipper, setting the stack height differently by using different thickness plates will alter when the slipper action is actuated.

  4. Sorry for delay in responding
Not used a slipper before so prob am confused tbh

At present it has what has been described to me as domed plates in and an amount or height that means it slips a lot whe setting off - the guy that had it was an ex racer and tracked it a couple of times = he said he preferred this
I am looking to understand how the feel of the slipper would chage if I put the old 'normal' plates back in as shown in the DP instructions or whether there is an advantage to leave as is?

He made it sound like a black art to set up the slipper proerly which means I dont want to mess without knowing what does what and why if you take my drift

Its a DP slipper with 6 springs - the type that re-uses the existing springs if that helps?
