Ow do! So I spotted a small oil leak/trace from beneath the clutch cover so I decided to remove the clutch for inspection. It is as dry as a bone in there so the oil must be coming from somewhere else, suspect the breather. Anyways, the clutch fibers are absolutely goosed, the tangs around the edges are worn to fcuk so I have purchased another clutch fiber set, the steels look perfect. So assuming the new fibers do the trick I'll have a stack full of old fibers up for grabs if anyone is thinking about the quiet clutch mod thingy.
The clutch basket was also very notchy and there were burrs on the edge of every finger, so for this I used a soft dremmel wheel to file them off. It is notched still but now without any sharp edges. I could probably do with a new basket in time. The hub however is perfect!!
Blue I'm having trouble with my clutch at the minute due to fitting new friction plates causing it to drag and hard to find neutral when running I too have found some slotting on the basket did you file them down and did you use the quite clutch set up I'm in two minds it's also bloody hard on the fingers and not a light clutch lever at all any advice welcome
I didn't do the quiet clutch mod no, but it does work, I just preferred to keep mine as standard. I did file off any sharp edges with a dremmel tool but you could use a small file. The clutch does drag but the drag is so tiny I am willing to wait until it beds in. If your is dragging a lot you should check the height of the stack, check that every steel and fibre is perfectly straight and double check your work. The pressure plate can be difficult to get sitting correctly sometimes so check that too.
