Just fitted a Competition Werkes exhaust to my 22 SS950 and really pleased with the result so far. Competition Werkes themselves dont actually sell internationally but a company called HSBK do which is who I got mine from. I cant swallow 2.5k for the Akra system and the slip ons dont sound any louder for a grand so Im glad I found this option. It cuts out the cat, so loads of weight saved and my bike sounds like a Ducati should now, especially with the quickshifter/blipper. Its manufacture seems very good with some lovely welding on the joints but only time will tell as to how durable it is as regards maintaining its finish on the can etc. Looks wise, I know it is subjective, and I honestly wasn't sure at first but I love the way it looks now, much better than the stock cans, which I didn't hate, they just lacked a little bling. You do have to change the front header though, the US bike uses the 939 front header as I assume euro rules has meant changing the CAT for our EU bikes. I got one of fleabay from a uk 939 bike for £50 with a o2 sensor. Fitting was a bit of emotional affair with lots of on and off to get the different parts lined up correctly. I also had to use a wrap of exhaust bandage for the vertical cylinder to make up the gap. Custom charges were only £60 which was much less than I was expecting. I went for a run today and the bike runs fine other than being a bit sluggish in town, without any tuning, but obviously will be running lean so just waiting on an Upmap arriving. Hope this helps someone out if you are disappointed with the lack of exhaust options for our bike.
