Is having condensation in the headlight normal when washing the bike after a ride, read a few posts about a potential condensation issue, Wondering if this is another issue to check for like the condensation in the dash
At all costs do not wash the LCD dash board! Gentle wipe at most. These suffer with moisture ingress right up to the 2013 production. At the back it has two "spiders silk" vents to allow the molding to breath, however any chemicals may change the silks ability to resist water ingress.
Really, so a 14k bike can't be ridden in the rain as the dash will get wet. I've never heard of anything like this with other manufacturers bikes!
I pressure washed my 2010 from day 1 and kept it for 4 yrs and 30k miles. Never had a problem with moisture in either the headlight or the dash.
That's not what I said is it! I've spent a lot of time and effort getting to the bottom of this issue. Please search speedo in the mutley section for more information.

If you are not interfering with the vents with detergents then I can see no reason why you would. Water in the headlamp can be easily cleared, not so the speedo. Having stripped apart a Mutley speedo I'd never wash mine with anything more than a damp rag.
I had condensation in the headlights on my ZZr1400, now the dash, that's another matter. Had the clocks changed on my 2011 model but was assured by Riders that its not an issue with later bikes, well my 2014 model has a misted up dash, I was out on it Sat and the centre misted up, I got caught in the rain on a previous trip so assuming that was the cause, Grrrr
Quite right! Quick wipe over with a damp sponge is all it gets since I've read about all the aggro caused by damp ingress. The dash doesn't get dirty normally so there's no reason to splash water round it. Why invite a problem?
Agree with what you are saying but if you ride the bike or park the bike up and it rains I think water is going to get on the dash!
I'm not sure that is the only cause, I had condensation in the dash of my 2014 model and the weather conditions were dry but frosty and I don't put water or chemicals on the dash during cleaning!
Agree with El Toro, a bit of misting on the headlights is nothing unusual, seen it on previous bikes and cars. Warm humid air (heated by bulbs/LED's) holds moisture then when it hits a cold surface (the outer lens) it will condense, so cold weather or washing with cool water will cause this, nothing to loose sleep over IMO. I've also had some misting in the instruments, which I'm more concerned about with that expensive circuitry in there. Bought the MTS new Aug '13 and was fine till spring '14, after a few months in the garage over winter first ride out on a cool spring day and the dash mists up (but not the round section). Was then fine through the warmer summer months but misting returned on the last few cool autumn rides, strangely didn't notice any problems on the Grossglockner or Stelvio mid season (they were pretty cool - in both senses). I assume the problem is that the backlight led's warm the air in the dash and then condenses when hitting the cool screen, I've never washed (the dash ) with anything other than a damp cloth. It got rained on while away touring but didn't seem to cause a problem. I guess a few months in a cool garage over winter lets some damp air into the dash. This winter I've wrapped the dash in some bubble wrap with a box of silica gel in there, see if I can dry out the air, not the sort of thing you should need to do with a 16k bike. I can see Ducati coat the inside of the round section to stop misting, Triumph do the same on their clocks, much the same as the old trick of washing up liquid on your visor. Aircon, are you suggesting Ducati made a change to the 2013 clocks with regard to venting? I haven't seen any of the light problems (yet) others have posted, just some misting, I'm wondering whether to get the dash changed under warranty if the misting recurs this spring.
I'm not suggesting that Ducati have changed the clocks? I don't think they have, its just that I have no direct experience of the 2014 clocks.
If your speedo or clocks are misting up get them changed under warranty. If refused ask for a written explanation and keep this letter. Later if the clocks should fail you have evidence that the fault was detected during warranty. Note theinternal circuit boards have no protection from moisture, only the housing, so water inside the housing is a BIG issue.
Thanks AirCon, I realised the firmware must have changed for the slight changes in display on 2013 model, plus I understand the dealer can now enter the correct mileage when they change out the unit. Maybe they should concentrate more on removing the need for replacement. Just wondered whether there'd been any subtle mechanical improvements, I guess not, nor likely to be now they've moved on to a new dash for 2015. You've taken a display apart, from your comment I assume the pcb was not conformal coated then?
So have people now got too have a dehumidifier in their garage? I don't even own a garage nor ducati yet mind.
