1299 Coolant Leak

Normally if it comes from the "weep hole", that is a sign of coolant pump seal failure. Hope that is not the case.

 

I have the same leak. Smelt coolant after a ride. Left side has a little puddle of pink coolant on top of cover.

Mine has it too. Quite common apparently. Awaiting new water pump...

 

Razz - do you mean it's in a dealer waiting for parts? I'm hoping to get in and out in a week all fixed.

 

Waiting for parts. I am still riding it. The leak is very small.

water pump weap hole is normal for 1000-2000 miles, then it stops, the engine opens up, and you learn to ride it

 

Flat fish - I don't see this peep hole. Do you have any more info?

appy polly loggy, it was an teeny oil weap, not coolant.

audi shatting themselves have actually replaced engines on some bikes when this happened on the first phanis lol.

 

I work on VAG and BMW for a living and I can't tell you how many engines Audi have cocked up so doesn't surprise me. They're so unreliable.

Mine is leaking coolant from the front bolt in your picture. Out the top of it. Also your bike seems to have grey sealant where mine has black.

 

post a pic dude. Many have coolant, or oil, or both from this area. 1199 and 1299
the engine replacements that were carried out were only so Audi could see what where the engine had failed. I wouldnt want my 200mph bike rebuilding by an 'average' bike technician :Vomit:

Razz - that's exactly what mine looks like. Identical!

Gonna call Ducati Cambridge tomorrow and talk about it. They're my 2nd nearest dealer.
