Just a couple of questions I need answers for please chaps. Having drained my cooling system to fit silicone hoses, I decided to refill it with normal water to flush the system out. Now according to the spec for my engine it should hold 3.5 litres of coolant. when refilling thengine it would only take 2.5 litres! I assume the last litre is not drainable as such. Now, having purchased enough Putoline Ultracool 12 for my engine I'm not sure if this stuff mixes with water, I assume it does. so any comments would be welcome from the clever ones amongst you. Any help and comments would be welcome. Regards
Not sure about the putoline over to someone else,but you might be right not fully drained down or when refilling air locks in the system squeeze the hoses to get the water moving around
The normal drain point, apparently this residue is quite normal and mixing the new coolant is not a problem.
I wouldn't worry about it as long as you run it up and keep it topped up before you button it all up. Presume you've vented it!
