Hi I've brought a 450 Mk III and the blue is wrong. Can anyone advice me on the right colour blue and or recommend someone in the South West to do do the job. Thanks Paul
Hi Paul, Remember the look of these, but can't name the colour. Mick Walker wrote a book "Restoring Ducati Singles", might be worth a look if you can find a copy? Good luck with it. Steve
Found a copy of Mick Walker's "Ducati Singles". Some of the 450s are described as having been painted in Metallic Kingfisher Blue. The same was used of quite a few other models dating from the 1961 - 5 250 Monza singles. That sounds right to me, I recall trying tio get the money together for a used 450 single in 1979 as a student in London. Couldn't run to it! Often think about that. It was the blue Walker describes. Same colour seen on quite a few singles I've seen over the years. Dunno if paint available, you may need to seek a close match. Steve
Yellow. Haha! I know. My old 750s bevel is yellow. When i came back to biking after a long break, i didnt get the red thing - for a while! Steve
Thanks Ruffs the Metallic Kingfisher Blue is a great help. I've just obtained a copy of the Singles Restoration (which having given a copy away years ago, when I was never going to buy another single, was a horrifying price) and that just said blue. Mine is metallic blue but it seems to be more metallic than I remember the last MK3 single I owned. If anyone has a paint code for one that they have had resprayed it that would be even better. Cheers Paul
