After being @ CSS yesterday, i noticed one of their V4's had been down the road (lightly) on the LHS. Visible damage was to the LHS engine cover, and a scuff to the swingarm (at widest/deepest part) - as a point of reference, the scruff was right on the chain adjustment sticker. The bike was fitted with R&G fork protectors and a rear protector through he back wheel center. I suspect the left clipon and/or bar wight was replaced, as it had no scuffs/marks etc This tells me 2 things.... In a low speed slide the swingarm will be scuffed - expensive!! Engine casing protection, and swingarm protection would be a good idea on a V4 Perc
R&G and GBRacing offer a set of full case protectors (R&G also offer a protector ‘blob’ as well) and Ducati has a swing arm guard. Andy
GBRacing casing set ordered + Evotech front & rear ordered. DP swing arm guard quite pricey ....but looks like a quality bit of kit!
I suppose it's less likely that many V4's will get time to be dropped though, unless it happens whilst back at the dealers during recalls Kidding.. Just kidding
