I Have just read this, Teenager tends war memorial in his village for 12 years... then the council accuses him of criminal damage after he added a pipe to water plants | Mail Online What could anyone hope to achieve by perusing this? Other than to make people scared of doing anything to improve the look of the community. I makes me wonder sometimes. There may be more to this but i doubt it.
He should send them a bill for his time and effort in tending the memorial for the last 12 years and play them at their own game.
I hope he fights them all the way. Tending a memorial in the memory of brave soldiers who fought facists and bullies. I hope the irony isn't lost on these people.
Wow... I'm sure the council will get a right earful from higher up as this story spreads. Bloody awful! Would they rather him out nicking cars? Mind you, they would then lock him up with a games console and a free ticket to education and the likes. Backwards.
Hands up all those who have complete faith in the accuracy and truthfulness of stories in the Daily Mail? And are happy to display apoplectic indignation whenever a Mail journalist wants them to? Thought so.
A 2 hr interview amuses me. What the f*** did they talk about. "Did you dig a hole" Yes "Did you Put a Pipe in it Yes Did you turn the water on Yes Did anyone say you could I thought they did Job done That will be the Mail then
Maybe we'll learn later that he drilled a hole right through the middle of the monument to fit the pipe... Even so it seems overly harsh, if indeed the story is true.
OK not just the Daily Mail: Rumpus over Dersingham memorial clean-up - Politics - Eastern Daily Press They possibly got the story from here. Also on the local TV News tonight.
I don't have any faith in any newpaper or media reporting.........the standard of grammar, spelling and research is enough to tell me that the majority of them don't have a clue as to what they are writing / talking about. AL
Arhhh The Daily Fail.. I hope it is not a true story but given councils wouldn't surprise me. I'd be sending them a bill !!
The Daily Fail has quite a track record for printing fiction in an attempt to stir up hysteria in suburbia: Daily Mail Article
