Guys, This lousy weather is driving me nuts :Rage: !! No chance to get out on the bike for weeks to come yet due to all the salt on the roads. So a question for you all?? What other stuff do you do to keep your sanity during these long, dark winter months? Suggestions please????? Cheers, Poucher
If you go to the gym, or swimming or something, it will release endorphins in your brain which will make you feel great. You'll also get a warm glow from having done something healthy. I reckon playing music is a brilliant indoor activity. You can have a lot of fun and it's massively satisfying. If you can't play anything, choose an instrument you like, buy one and get on YouTube to find out how to play it. Cooking is a great thing to do indoors with a few of your favourite tunes on, or possibly Radio 4. And I like reading and writing, so not bored at all.
Already mountain bike Attila, I was out last Friday, but it was soo cold and windy I couldn't feel my fingers and toes after 1 1/2 hours! I also have a decent road bike that's set up on the turbo trainer for a few "sweatathons" Go to the gym as well, so I try and fill in the winter time as best I can, but all these are not as satisfying as a good ride on the Ducati. What was it Steve McQueen said :- ""Racing is life. Anything before or after is just waiting." Anybody else got any good ideas to kill the wintertime waiting?????????
Just now I have taken the cover and life support system of my favourite bike and wheeled her out into the sunshine.I will probably fire her up and do a bit of Brm Brm and pretend I am out on the open road.bit sad I know-but I feel the need until I can actually ride again.
I am only off the bike because the driveway and 500yards of 'B' roads are completely frozen. I used to MTB, but I'm lazy and just walk the dog. Oh, I use the Ducati Forum to watch a fight. Better than Sky sports
You could 'treat' yourself to a balsa wood model, spend long winter hours cutting. glueing and doping then watch it self destruct on it's maiden flight in Spring?
Many a time I have done that Rman.I still have a load of unused RC gear and glow plug engines in the loft with an unused plane and all the bits and pieces that go with the hobby.just like the motorbikes-One day.......
