Cush Drive Allen Key Size

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by Expat Jack, Feb 27, 2020.

  1. Hi.
Anyone know what size the Allen (hex) socket size is on the back of a 748/916/996/998 etc etc cush drive? I have measured and some appear to be 11, some more like 12. I don’t possess either size key and would rather order the right one.
    Thanks

  2. 12mm dude

  8. I bought a set of these for working on the bike, mate. Ideal for jobs like the Cush drives. Put the shaft into a vice vertically a tighten a little bit! o_O
    (Seriously though, a good investment)

  15. Never used their brand stud extractors mate. Can’t see them being shit though going by the quality of their other tools.

  16. odd....

  17. Soz mate, didn’t explain myself very well. You put the Allen key shaft into the square drive socket then use the little driver to tighten the grub screw in the socket to hold the shaft in place.

  18. I bought the slotted extractors last week ... snapped as soon as I applied pressure and with only a tap wrench. No flex / warning . That was trying to get an 8mm sheared exhaust stud out
Needed a carbide drill to get it out ..
