Cutting out!

  1. Hello Panni owners, Q. for you. Has anyone had their bike cut out? A friend of mine is still running in, 600 mile period, he entered a roundabout slowly and the thing cut out. He wasn't expecting it and never managed to grab the clutch, and the poor sod got high sided. He said there was no warning the bike was warm.Still waiting on a response from Ducati, but it looks like he will have to pay for the repair.

  2. Yes mine did, id only done 50 - 100 miles, baking hot day and recently filled up. it just cut out as if id hit the kill switch. at first I thought I run out of fuel, pulled in the clutch and was coasting. looked at the dash but said nothing. basically was like I hadnt started it with the fuel light red as it does before fire up. so I let out the clutch, it started and its been fine ever since. Was meaning to ask about it but forgot. Thats shit to hear bout ya mate, Hope hes ok?

  3. Poor bloke - I cannot imagine how he must feel right now..

  4. Sorry to hear about your mates accident.

Mine cut out on me twice during the running in period, both times it was when pulling up to a stop when the clutch was being held in. i.e. ticking over while free rolling. Dealer informed me this would disappear with time. Its not happened since around 450 mile mark. Now on 720 miles ish.

  5. Just had it on mine, Only done 150 miles on it and it cut out twice, Strange but clutch was in and slowing down to stop, First time started no probs, second time it was a bitch to re-start, Phoned the dealer and he said bear with it as it will happen and will go away as the engine loosens, If it persists though im more than welcome to take it back and the will run diagnostics on it.
I have sent an email to Ducati direct in Italy logging the fault, I want to make sure I have half a chance if something happens fingers crossed not though.

  6. TPS is off. Better to reset at dealers.

  7. Different bike, but my 848 did this until its first 600 mile service. TPS reset and a bit of running in and it went. Nothing to worry about. Same senario, clutch in, pulling in at lights/ junctins etc.
