Hi there, anyone changed their radiator hoses on their D16RR so far? Mine sprung a leak, this is the 3rd time riding the bike since purchase in 2008. Hard to ascertain where the leak sprung, not sure if the radiator hoses are cracked because of the dry nature of the house - air-conditioned 24/7. Bike has done 200km. Anyway, my question is, are there anyone who have changed their radiator hoses and what would be their recommendation for a good hose. Preferably not SAMCO, thanks.
What's wrong with Samco, over priced....YES....good quality....YES..... Why not run some Evans waterless coolant while your at it...I do. Anyway only 100.00 for the d16 http://racebikebitz.com/samco-hoses...ici-Parts-D16RR-14-piece-samco-sport-hose-kit Get some blue ones.. Ti clips too Sir?
Powercool 180 Dont forget the Prep on a wet system.. Worth running on any Ducati as they CORRODE so fast! even if just for that reason...
I see powercool but not 180, but that's alright. Have to look for SAMCO hoses then, the desmo's such a pain, wheels have to be changed before riding... half brake lever costs $560++, what a hassle.
Id have sold my whole collection for one, but sadly the parts scare the crap out of me price wise....so I have to keep my girls....lol Yes it's Powercool 180 (as seen on racebikebitz) sorry to confuse... Evans is FULLY tested in many forms of racing I love the stuff, run it in many of my bikes! 848,Blade,WR,TDM,YZ,950SMs and many more, used in the Dakar rally by Honda and many other teams, it's great stuff trust me...only down side is the price! But pro points are worth the cost...shame can't be used in superbike racing...
I have had the pleasure of low-siding my bike the first time out on it at a track day. Cost me nearly 10Gs to replace the belly pan had I ordered one from Ducati. Not a very crashable bike.
Holly sh@t! Mmmm well....what can you say....Ooops.. anyway you fixed it so fair play to you! Post some pics up when you get those hoses on...
Well you get board in the winter.... 07 model bike so not that old...but by today's standards her time is up... it don't matter to me as it was too fast when I got it...lol
Not having seen D16 hose routes, is it possible to get ally pipe-work made up and join them with straight Samco/SFS hoses?
Samco don't do the Ti clips Steve but Racebikebitz can get them Ive seen them on Boat forums and suppliers etc BUT some prices have been SUPER high, like 20-35.00 per clip and even more...hence why mine are stainless....lol D16 hoses are mostly only a few inches long.
arthurbikemad: Did you change your rearsets on your desmo? my search only turned out Durbhan's rearset. Doesn't look adjustable. Sorry its a little off topic
No Desmo for me mate, I only have a poor mans Ducati....lol I was lucky in that my good mate Dave from Snells let me have a blast on his a few times, so I did live the dream for a short while....lol mind you those times will be in my mind for ever...awsome! Durbhans gear is all ace, don't think I've seen anything that they/he does that's not been the nuts. WOW... http://durbahn.de/Desmo-MonocoqueRearsetsEN.htm
The rear was a 16", I could not find any tires for it so I had to change the wheel to a 17". Since I had to change the rear, I opted to change it as a set. And I am a huge fan of OZ wheels. Here's my other one.
