I met Dave Roper back in the 1980s, in the paddock at the TT. Once I was looking in the back of a Transit van for something, only to find that Dave R was changing into his leathers in there. I then discovered that it was his habit to 'go commando' when racing, and I got to see a good deal more than I wanted to.
