998 Dealer Prices

  1. I'm in a position to buy a new bike lucky me. How much do you think I could get off for a cash buy with no trade in? I'm seriously thinking of the F3800. I got offered £6500 part to part ex the 998 on a second hand F4 or 7k on a new one. I tried another MV dealer for a no trade in on a F4 he said there was a waiting list so couldn't do anything. I think The F3 800 s are more readily available. Whats your thought folks?

  2. I got offered a f3 800 at £9500 by bennetts last year if that helps at all

  3. Was that a brand new one 2015 model

  4. It was new but from memory it was the old model year which had a black frame not the newer red one. I went Ducati again instead.

  5. I've been thinking of an f3 800 too. 9,500 seems cheap for a new one? I've seen quite a few second hand ones going for that...

  6. Yeh it was cheap I thought and I very nearly went for it. However I went 899 as I had lots of bits from my 1199 that bolted on and if I'm honest the 899 is a better bike.

  7. Do you know of any faults problems with the f3? Paul?

  8. The 2015 bikes may be cheaper now as the 2016 ones have the black engine cases and a easier to read display. Honestly though unfortunately u can't expect big chunks off for cash anymore as the dealer makes commission on the finance sales also so will always go towards that.

I'm awaiting a test ride on the f3 800, my god it feels like a 125 to sit on! If u get one it may be worth working a steering damper in as there isn't one as standard which is a slight oversight

  9. Not renowned for their reliability from what i hear.

  10. And Ducatis are:) Seriously though any info is greatly appreciated

  11. Keep the 998! Great bikes and will only become more sought after as time goes by.

  12. 998 is sold now to a great guy from my local Ducati owners club he's thrilled to bits with it and rightly so.

  13. I wouldn't go near another MV. I've just sold my F3, I was lucky that I didn't have many issues during 2 years of having it. Got pissed off after waiting 7 months for an indicator, dealer backup is a joke. Just heard that dealers have not been getting any parts from the factory for months, not even filters etc. Looks like MV are in trouble again, history has a habit of repeating itself. All of the 3 cylinder 800s have sprag clutch issues, some bikes are known to be on their 5th under warranty. Not great.

  15. Doesn't sound good for mv at all. For now I will keep hold of my hard earned. May even get one of those husqvarna 701 supermotos?

  16. If I heard it on tv last weekend, the boring talking bit between races was talking about MV and if they were going to continue to race as a brand, they said it if they expected MV to go out of business then they would continue to use there remaining bikes to race!!!
