Sad that satellite crashed into the big lump of rock in space the other day.. However all is not lost, for nearly as long as it took for the Satellite to reach its rock, project "N" has been under wraps waiting for its moment.. Regrettably other missions including project "E" (Extension) and mission "F&P" (fence and patio) were explored first and with tight budgets imposed by my Commander in chief, that's Mrs N to you guys, who duly said " I told you not to take it to bits, you'll just have to wait now till the other projects are finished".. A crack team of experts has been assembled for project "N" , sorry bit of a mistake there.. A team of 1, me myself and I, armed with a brand new kettle.. Big dreams are firmly in place, along with a massively small budget ( Mrs N's purse) and of course, the vital large box of tea bags.. Well at least it's on the bench now anyway... I'm sure there's going to be many "er Huston we have a problem" moments along with lots of wrong turns too, but, it's on the pad and the very slow fuse has at last, been lit.. Hardest bit so far was matching the charcole paint colour from the frame to allow repainting of swing arm.. Even Ducati UK couldn't find it out.. Now, where does this bit go.... X
Keep it coming and congrats on getting Mrs N's purse to open...wish I could do the same with Mrs R but she already thinks I "waste" too much money on bikes I rarely ride!
I can see the light at the end of the tunnel on my project so I feel your anticipation and pain, look forward to seeing the updates
I will keep updating as I/we go on this long journey ... Mrs N's a great Lady, even though she has to be one slate short of a roof just for putting up with me... The most annoying thing she says about my bikes is... " why did you havHave to say I took a peek at the stored wiring loom the other day.. Even though I had labelled and photographed it all its already providing nightmares just thinking about it.. There's so much of it and I remember just how little space there was for it too.. I'd really like to do what the custom boys do and hide it in the frame, well, as much as possible.. I like a challenge but fear that might be a bit too far even for a space kadet like me... For me to paint the swing arm I had to send off a paint chip off the frame to be analysed by a specialist at cost, so a paint company could match it.. It's a charcole black/grey with a little bit of silver flake in there.. Was really pleased how it came out in the end.. As my dear old friend Buzz lightyear would say" to infinite and beyond" I shall get there, eventually.... ha.. I will try but I'm notorious for being overly slowly and Muchly fussely... Will keep updating though, will encourage me to keep at .. Working 72 hrs a week most weeks just to keep Mrs N in shoes doesn't make it easy though.. X
n these things take time mate. My 748 took early 2 years from the time I started collecting bits to the end of its refresh. Wish I had the coin to do another! Lots of detailed pics will keep us happy!
Indecision is my middle name so help me guys pls.. Was talking to FTR suspension earlier this week regarding buying a set of Ohlins.. But, can't decide between all gold colour or the black and gold version, same forks just choice of colours.. Tell me what you think pls X
