Have booked a test ride on a multistrada 1200 tom will be my first ride on a twin let alone a ducati looking forward to it:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:
I've not ridden a mutly yet, but feel sure an hour later you'll be signing on the dotted line. Great bikes from what I hear, but then DUcatis are just plain awesome anyway.
My mate is having a demo at the same time so there could be two bought , will have to behave if we can:wink:
Great bikes. A real do it all machine and has the right name on the tank. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the ride
Right then, had our demo rides today and to be honest wanted to take it straight back to the dealership it felt totally alien big moto x came to mind . But we stuck at it and after a few more miles under our belts big daft grins started to happen, awesome power had to change my riding style to suit more pushing on the bars and very envolving . My mate bought the one he rode and I will make my decision on mon looking at a new one for me
Been out on mine today, with a mate on an R6 amongst others. Think 140 may have appeared at one point of the closed road we use...and mine was in total comfort with loads left
 Its always the way on a different bike. Took me ages to get used to my 1098 on my test ride. Its been riding a big fat zx7r at the time, but I've never looked back. I hope you decide to get the bike that's right for you, but even if you don't get a Ducati, you're always welcome on these little white pages
I bet you miss the 7R don't you Matt?! or is it still in your garage? I've always fancied one! I had a new ZX6-R, but always wanted the older and big bruiser! They will be collectable before long!...
I miss it alot. It was stolen in June last year whilst on a weekend trip to see my girlfriend in Birmingham. I was able to buy the 1098 with some insurance money after a big crash the year before Nows the time to buy, you get get decent machine for £1000. Thats a whole lota bike. I'm looking at zx9r now to go with the 1098
I fell in love with the 7r and 9r back in the 90's. I hadn't been on a bike for about 14 years and when my other half was in hospital delivering our second son in '98 I decided to go for a test ride on the new 9r - FUCK ME! scared the life out of me! It was a bit on the tall side for me as well so I decided to get the new shaped 6r (not much smaller but as near as damn it just as bloody lethal for someone who hadn't ridden a bike for bloody years!). So bought the bike new, got a full set of leathers, new lid, boots and gloves and got them all in the garage in the time it took my other half to deliver our second son and get discharged. I was well happy and never looked back since - hahahaha!
My biking history goes Kawasaki KC100, TZR250, RD350, GSXR600, CBR600, Fireblade, GSXR1000, Multistrada. There is no shadow of a doubt that moving to the Multi was the best thing I ever did. I took a bit of ribbing from the GSXR, BMW1000RR crew I rode out with initially but never once backed down form my opinion...strangely they are slowly coming around to my way of thinking.
